My Automations
A running list of automations I've built for my own family and household โ each one born from a specific chore I got tired of doing by hand.

3:47 PM
๐ง Council rates notice detected โ due date Sep 15. Reminder scheduled.

a sample of what shows up in the same WhatsApp thread
Swim Schedule Digest
Watches the kids' swim school portal and turns their weekly class schedule and makeup tokens into a plain-language WhatsApp message.
The portal has no public API, so a headless browser logs in with a saved session and reads the schedule data the app itself fetches. A scheduled job composes a digest and sends it straight to WhatsApp โ no need to open the portal to check who has swimming this week.
School Feed Monitor
Polls the school communication app for new posts and messages and pushes an alert the moment something's posted.
Keeps track of what's already been seen so nothing gets missed or repeated, and turns a feed you'd otherwise have to remember to check into a notification that shows up on its own.
School Portal Tracking
Scrapes learning tasks, news, attendance, and timetable information from the kids' school portal.
Another no-API portal, handled the same way โ a logged-in browser session reused headlessly to pull structured information out of a page that was only ever built for humans to read.
Solar & Energy Tracking
Checks solar system health and output, and estimates whether current solar surplus is enough to cover EV charging.
Reads the numbers the solar inverter's own dashboard already computes (its requests are signed by obfuscated client-side JS, so the trick is letting the page do that work and reading the result) and layers a simple charging estimate on top โ no CT meter, so it's an estimate rather than a live grid-import measurement.
Inbox Watcher & Auto-Reminders
Watches an inbox for messages that matter, alerts to WhatsApp, and automatically schedules a reminder when a message mentions a due date.
Runs every 15 minutes over IMAP, matches senders and subjects against a small rules file, and scans matched bodies for a due date to set up a one-shot, self-removing reminder โ so a bill or form deadline buried in an email turns into a nudge that shows up on its own.
Receipt & Grocery Extraction
Grocery receipt photos sent over WhatsApp get read automatically and logged as itemized spending.
An inbound-message watcher detects receipt images, uses AI vision to pull out line items, and logs them straight into a spending log โ turning a photo into structured data with no manual entry.
Personal Finance Dashboard
A private web app that pulls together accounts, transactions, and spending into one view, with an AI chat assistant that can answer questions about it.
Bank exports are imported automatically, spending is categorized and rolled up, and a chat interface answers questions grounded in the actual account data rather than generic advice.
SPX Quant Options Framework & Auto-Trading
A quantitative options framework for SPX, with algorithms that decide when to buy and sell and place the orders automatically.
Strategies are backtested against historical options data before they go anywhere near real money, then run on a schedule: the algorithm reads the market, generates the signal, sizes the position, and submits the buy and sell orders through the broker API on its own. Open positions are tracked across restarts, and daily P&L and position reports land in chat without anyone opening a trading screen.
Stock Screener & Options Data Pipeline
A personal research tool that combines company fundamentals, options market data, and analyst ratings into one ranked report for a hand-picked watchlist.
Pulls growth/fundamentals data and analyst ratings from a market data API, cross-references live options chain data pulled directly from a broker API, and blends in a manually-curated ratings import where no public API exists โ all merged into a single composite-ranked report so reviewing a watchlist means reading one output instead of checking three separate sources by hand.
One Dashboard for Every Broker & Wallet
A concept for one dashboard that brings every stock and crypto holding together โ so checking your whole portfolio means one place to look, not five logins.
Holdings are split today across a brokerage app, a crypto exchange, and a few wallets, each with its own login and its own app. This would pull balances and positions from all of them into a single view, sitting alongside the existing stock screener and options data pipeline instead of replacing them.
Brokerage, exchange, and wallet balances โ pulled into one total instead of four separate logins.
One WhatsApp Channel for Everything
Every automation above โ swim schedule, school feed, solar, inbox alerts, receipts โ reports back through the same WhatsApp thread instead of its own app or dashboard.
Rather than checking five different portals and apps, one message channel is the single place anything worth knowing shows up. A background agent gateway handles routing and scheduling behind the scenes, but WhatsApp is the only interface anyone actually has to look at.
Want something like this for your business?
I build the same kind of automation for small businesses too.
